Hi there! I'm Olivia, the owner of Curious Caterpillars Messy Play! As a proud mum of four and a Brisbane local originally from the UK, I’m excited to share my passion for playful learning with you.

With over 5 years as an early-years childcare provider, I’ve combined my love for working with children and raising my own to create vibrant, sensory-rich environments where kids can explore, create, and have a great time!

Our messy play sessions are the perfect way for little ones to unleash their creativity, engage their senses, and make new friends—all while discovering exciting textures and materials in a fun and safe space. And the best part? You get to leave all the mess behind, so your home stays clean!

What to Expect in Our Exciting Messy Play Sessions?

Our 1-hour indoor messy play sessions are designed to offer a delightful and engaging experience for both parents and children. Here’s a snapshot of what your visit will look like:

Get ready for a fun hour of indoor messy play designed to create lasting memories for both parents and children! Here a quick glimpse of the joyful adventure awaiting you:

1. Welcome and Warm-Up: We begin each session by gathering together and singing some familiar nursery rhymes. This interactive start sets a cheerful tone and helps little one's transition into playtime.

2. Explore and Play: After our warm-up, children can freely explore a variety of sensory-rich tuff trays, filled with squishy play dough, splashing water, vibrant paints, and more! This open-ended play encourages creativity and delightful sensory discovery.

3. Mid-Session Sing-Along: Approximately 10 minutes before the session ends, we gather once more for a final sing-along of nursery songs. This helps to transition the children gently from playtime to the end of the session.

4. Clean-Up and Farewell: As we wrap up, we provide a wash basin for parents to clean down their little ones. You can then enjoy the rest of your day knowing your child has had a delightful and engaging morning, while we take care of the cleanup!

My child has an allergy. Are the sessions safe for them to join?

Yes, the sessions are safe for children with allergies. When booking a session, you’ll be asked to fill out a form where you can specify any allergies. This allows us to plan accordingly to ensure your child’s safety.

Please note, we require 24 hours’ notice to accommodate any special requirements.

What should I bring and what should my little one wear?

Prepare for you and your little one to get messy!

We offer adorable, embroidered children's t-shirts in our shop—perfect for our sessions!

Although we provide a wash basin and cloth at the end of the session we recommend bringing along:

Spare clothes
Wash bag
Towel
Baby wipes

I have a newborn; can I bring them along too?

Of course! Children under 6 months are free to come along and join in too if they can.

There is also a ramp for pram and wheelchair access to the building.

Can more than one adult attend with my child?

Absolutely! We love seeing parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members join in the fun.

We kindly ask that you let us know if more than two adults will be attending, so we can ensure the space isn’t overcrowded.

Do you offer a discount for siblings?

Absolutely! Enjoy a 50% discount for siblings booking the same session
